2011-12 Gabriel Landeskog "Rookie Debut" Peter Forsberg Night Set (MeiGray)

This is Gabriel Landeskog's game worn rookie debut sweater from Peter Forsberg Retirement Night at the Pepsi Center on October 8th 2011 vs. Red Wings.  A game that I attended. The Forsberg Retirement Ceremony was amazing and very emotional for everyone in attendance. The Avs were fairly flat in the game and lost to their rivals by the score of 3-0.

But ultimately, there was a silver lining to this night.

A future Avs star and future captain would make his NHL debut. Landy was very noticeable out there and had a physical presence from the start.  Landy would log over 16 minutes of ice time on 24 shifts in his Avs' debut. He would register 5 shots and 3 hits during the contest.

I want to thank Barry Meisel from Meigray for making this dream sweater available to me.  I kind of think Barry knew he's be hearing from me as Landy is my guy... The LOA from the Avs and MeiGray is super special as it states "the actual jersey worn on "Peter Forsberg" Night by #92 Gabriel Landeskog is now yours".

As a huge Landeskog fan and one of his biggest collectors in the game worn hobby, I am extremely ecstatic to have added this true grail and very special Landy jersey to my collection.  This sweater will be proudly displayed in a shadow box in my man cave for me and my house guests to enjoy for years to come.  Happy collecting everyone and as always,, Go Avs Go!

2021-22 Alex Newhook (Rookie Season) Opening Night Home Set (KSC/Avalanche)

This is Alex Newhook's 2021-22 opening night set home sweater... Worn for 1 game at Ball Arena vs the Chicago Blackhawks on October 13th 2021. The sweater is super nice even with it being 99.9% pristine. The sweater exhibits a very minute mark on the arm most likely caused by a puck or stick.  Newhook logged a bit over 10 minutes of ice time opening night vs Chicago in the Avs' 4-2 win at Ball Arena. The sweater is one of Adidas' new Prime Green sustainability sweaters. The Avs' crest is raised a bit which looks super nice in my opinion. Super happy to add a rookie jersey of the Avs' top prospect in Newhook... And as always, GO AVS GO!

2019-20 Nazem Kadri Alternate 3rd Set 2 (KSC/ Avalanche )

This is Nazem Kadri's Alternate 3rd Set 2 game worn sweater from the 2019-20 season.  Kadri wore this sweater in three games, early in January of 2012.  He scored in this jersey on January 18th vs St Louis Blues at the Pepsi Center.  The jersey displays decent game use and has been photo matched several times. This sweater is the second Kadri that I have added to my collection.. He is a very important piece to the Avs' chances of winning their 1st Stanley up since 2001.

2009-10 Wojtek Wolski Set 2 Road (MeiGray)

This is Wojtek Wolski's set 2 road sweater from the 2009-10 season.  This game worn sweater exhibits good wear consisting of numerous stick marks, board burns and some light pilling in the hem. I was able to photo match the sweater fairly easy, to contests in December of 2009.

Wolski was a very good Avs' player during his time in Colorado.  In 2009-10 he had the best season of his career scoring 23 goals and 42 assists for 65 points, helping the Avs qualify for the playoffs that season.

2000-01 Alex Tanguay Set 2 Road (Avalanche Team LOA) Stanley Cup Season

This is Alex Tanguay's set 2 road sweater from the 2000-01 Avalanche championship season.  Tanguay had a memorable post season that year and is also credited with the game winning goal in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals vs Martin Brodeur and the NJ Devils.  It is always amazing to add a Stanley Cup champion's sweater to your collection, especially an Avs' legend like Tanguay.  The sweater is my third 2000-01 SC season sweater and will go nicely with my Milan Hejduk and Chris Drury sweaters from the same championship year.

2011-12 John Sebastian Giguere "Peter Forsberg Retirement Night" Warmup (Meigray)

This is JS Giguere's Forsberg Retirement Night warmup worn sweater worn in warmups the night of October 8th 2011 at the Pepsi Center in Denver Colorado. What a memorable night as I was in attendance for this game to watch Peter Forsberg's #21 get raised to the rafters. Giggy wore this beautiful 58G goalie cut sweater in warmups that night. The Avalanche hosted the rival Detroit Redwings this night, dropping the game 3-0.  It was also the future captain of the Avalanche Gabriel Landeskog's rookie debut.

Forsberg and Giguere nameplates and both signatures are present on the back of the warmup sweater. Typically the way the Avs' have always customized retirement night sweaters of their greatest players

1997-98 Wade Belak Set 1 Home

This is Wade Belak's game worn home sweater from the 1997-98 regular season.  Belak played only 8 games this season with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points both coming in the same home game against Washington.  Belak accumulated 27 penalty penalty minutes in the eight games made up of mostly fighting majors. The wear on the sweater is very light but staining from blood does exist.  Belak played with 5 different teams throughout his career, and was a beloved teammate and great enforcer in the league.. His life ended in tragedy in 2011 as he suffered from depression.. He committed suicide in a Toronto hotel room by hanging himself.. Belak will never be forgotten by his teammates, the league and fans.

2007-08 Kurt Sauer Set 1 Road 1.0 (MeiGray)

This is defenseman Kurt Sauer's Set 1 road sweater from the 2007-08 season.  Sauer played for the Avalanche for 3 seasons and was a very physical stay at home defenseman.  The sweater is the infamous 1.0 Reebok that the league got rid of fairly quickly after many teams complained about the materials that made up the jersey and that it didn't breathe or wick sweat. The sweater has nice wear and exhibits paint transfer team repairs and marks throughout.. Also the burgundy has bled onto the white fabric of the jersey causing a pink tinge which was common with this set.

His brother Michael Sauer also was a defenseman and played for the New York Rangers.  Both Sauer brother's careers were cut short by concussions.
